Manually Modeling in a Data Driven Solution

21 Nov 2019

With the launch of the 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Architecture Tools where Ardoq is recognized as a Visionary, we want to shed some light on the innovative ways Ardoq drives value through change.

Ardoq is a data-driven solution empowering Enterprise Architects by adding automation to their modeling work and analysis, but often we get questions on how do we do the conceptual or logical modeling.

While we do not support drawing, we do enable you to model manually the things that might not fit into your structured data. More importantly, we enable you to enrich these areas of your documentation by connecting the manual work to the automated. This type of automation or integrations help you reduce your workload, improve your overview, and allow you to connect the physical to the logical which typically exists in totally isolated documentation.

In this short video, we will briefly demonstrate how you can model something manually like an information model and connect it to Swagger specification of an API that is automatically documented, visualized and maintained by the out of the box integration. Some of the features we will touch upon are:

  • Swagger API importer

Every time you deploy code, your Swagger workspaces will be automatically updated in Ardoq.

  • Dependency Matrix

The Dependency Matrix is a view that allows you to quickly get an overview of your dependencies within or across domains. In addition, you can use it to quickly connect your data with a single click.
